Sounds like you had a great mini-adventure and were able to take in a number of the key sights. Next time you come, make sure you spend a little time in Kendal if you can - it's a great little town with lots to offer. Kendal Castle (a relatively easy walk), the Brewery Arts Centre, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal Museum, the Quaker Tapestry Museum, etc. - there's just so much to see and do here!
