Autotrail Suffering in Crunch – Despite New Orders Worth £6.75m

Upmarket motorhome manufacturer Autotrail appears to be suffering from the effects of the credit crunch and economic downturn.

The Grimsby-based company has just announced that it will be making 46 employees redundant – despite securing an impressive-sounding £6.75m of new orders at the recent International Caravan & Motorhome Show at the NEC.

Apparently this figure is lower than the last two years’ sales and has contributed to the firm’s decision to scale back their 2009 production schedules to match the lower levels of demand.
